Samarth Vernekar is a Master’s student in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Ottawa, supervised by Dr. Miodrag Bolic. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering and is currently pursuing advanced research at the intersection of biomedical instrumentation and data-driven healthcare.
Research Interests
Samarth’s research focuses on cuffless blood pressure estimation using physiological signals acquired from wearable devices. His work emphasizes signal processing, feature extraction from PPG and ECG waveforms, and machine learning models for continuous and personalized cardiovascular monitoring. He is currently working on translating these methods into practical wearable and smartwatch-based medical devices.
